When you’re thinking about home improvements, common sense dictates that you evaluate potential projects in at least three areas: cost, construction, and convenience.

Don’t forget: little things can make a big difference.  You don’t need a construction crew to spruce up an entry by changing door knobs or hinges.  A few gallons of paint are the simplest and quickest way to improve your home.  Rearranging the furniture you have can improve traffic flow and give the impression of more space.

It can cost thousands of dollars to add additional living space to your home.  Perhaps you find additional space by repurposing the space you have—basements, attics, and garages can be finished to add livable space.  You can even add 10 square feet to a room by simply changing the door.  Pocket door systems can add both floor and wall space, and are easy for the homeowner to do.  Look for solutions that are easy to do, easy to live with.
